Canna ‘Cannova Bronze Orange®’ is a Miniature Group cultivar; bronze foliage, ovoid shaped, branching habit; oval main stems, coloured bronze; oval flower stalks, coloured green; clusters of flowers are open, self-coloured red-orange, staminodes are medium size, edges regular, fully self-cleaning, average bloomer, flowers in until frosts in northern temperate zone, blooms open in the early morning; fertile both ways, true to type, not self-pollinating, capsules globose; rhizomes are thick, up to 3 cm in diameter, coloured pink and purple; tillering is average.

Canna have traditionally been grown as middle and background plants in mixed borders. The advent of miniature canna varieties means that beds can now be devoted soley to cannas, with the Cannova Series, and other miniatures, being grown at the front, with medium, tall and giants providibng the border background.
As the miniature varieties do not have to spend a vast amount of energy in growth, they have the delightful habit of flowering as early as April in the warmest climates, but normally in May in most of Europe and North America. This means that flower beds devioted totally to cannas will flower throughout the late spring, summer and well into Autumn, i.e. the whole gardening season in northern climes.
